What is a skimming cash register?

A skimming till is a (fraudulent) trick where a part of the turnover is 'skimmed' to pay less tax. This is done with a special till that, after entering a specific code, only registers a part of the actual turnover. This enables the entrepreneur to hide income and thus reduce the tax burden.
