What is an algoritme?

A list of step-by-step instructions that are followed to solve a specific problem. Algorithms are mathematical formulas or calculation methods and are used in many sectors, such as in e-commerce for product recommendations and in the financial world for computer-aided investing, risk analysis and fraud detection.

Example: ABN AMRO and QuSoft are investigating the use of quantum algorithms for detecting anomalies in financial data. Amazon has adjusted its search algorithm to display products with a higher profit margin more prominently.
