What is an AEX Low Risk Index?

An index introduced by NYSE Euronext in October 2012, consisting of 20 to 30 funds from the AEX and AMX indices, selected on the basis of low volatility and high turnover. The index is intended as a benchmark for portfolios with a low risk profile. At the time of its introduction, the index included companies such as Royal Dutch Shell, Philips, Unilever, AkzoNobel, Heineken, DSM, Ziggo, Vopak, and four property funds. The goal of the AEX Low Risk Index is to offer investors a reference for managing portfolios with a conservative risk profile.
