What is a shareholders' register?
A shareholders' register, also called a share register, is a list maintained by the company containing the names and addresses of shareholders, along with the amount paid up by each of them.
This register also indicates whether the shares are subject to pledging or usufruct.
Example: "New shareholders' register becomes publicly accessible - A publicly accessible register of major shareholders of private companies in the Netherlands is being introduced. This measure, stemming from a European anti-money laundering directive, has led to objections from family businesses due to privacy concerns."
