What are vultures (financial term)?
Vultures is a nickname for very aggressively operating investors, also known as activist investors, who mainly focus on short-term gain. These investors are known for buying up companies or gaining influence to quickly make a profit, often at the expense of long-term stability. Other names for these investors are activists, barbarians, buyout funds, predatory capitalists, financial locusts, and hyenas.
Example: "Another American vulture setting their sights on a Dutch party. Investor General Atlantic has set its mind on Funda."
